BLACK LIVES MATTER

Club Football Re-Start

The soccer school has been running since 3rd April. Over the recent weeks over 50 new girls and boys attend. Regular groups of 70 young people are playing on a Saturday morning. We have had a couple special visitors today. We had an ex player turn up to check out what we were doing. John Murtough was a player in our very first team back in 1986. John is now the ‘Director of Football’ at Manchester United.

John is far left in white tee shirt.

At the moment our landlord at Mersey Bank have issued instructions that the changing rooms will still be out of bounds until the government have opened up fully, which could be by the end of June. We will be using Denmark road training venue for the soccer school until the end of May. The restrictions will be only one parent can attend training and face masks are mandatory.

Moving on to the summer, we are planning a week long soccer camp on Mersey Bank during the summer holidays. If any parents are interested drop me a text. This will be for 6 to 12 year old’s. The cost will be £15 per day or £60 per week. Players will need correct footwear, shin pads, drinks and a pack lunch.
